四时无止息，
年去又年来。
万物有代谢，
九天无朽摧。
东明又西暗，
花落复花开。
唯有黄泉客，
冥冥去不回。

The seasons alternate without
ceasing,
Year in year out, time goes on its own way--
Everything in the world keeps changing,
But Heaven is unharmed and undecayed.
The sun rises from th' east and in
th' west sinks,
Flowers fall yet bloom 'gain happy and gay:
Only the visitors to Yellow Springs
Can ne'er return from th' world dark and dismayed.
Translator's Note:
Yellow Springs = the netherworld, something like Archeron in Greek
