夫宝重故防深，功高故校广，嘱累之所以殷勤，功德之所以屡增，良有以也！而经来兹土，乃以秦言译之，典摸（谟）乖于殊制，名实丧于不谨，致使求之弥至，而失之弥远，顿辔重关，而穷路转广。不遇渊匠，殆将坠矣。

So treasured, the treasure is closely guarded; so valued, the value is widely tested. It is reasonable that as their warding of the canon is strict, their merit increases. When the canon is introduced to China, it is rendered into Chinese. But since the institutions and regulations are different, the terms are mistranslated so carelessly so that the more is studied, the more is lost,just like having broken through the passes, one finds a great abyss. If no deus ex machina comes to help, he will fall.
