Red Cliffs
By DuMu/Tr. by Lily
Dug out from sand are the broken halberds in which iron does
show
After rinsed and rubbed the dynasty of its making we should know
If General Zhou wasn't favored with east wind that did strongly blow
His wife and her sister would have been imprisoned by his northern foe
Mooring on QinHuai River
By DuMu/Tr. by Lily
Mist veils the chilly waters while moonlight sheds on the sand
At night I moor my boat on QinHuai river near where pubs stand
Girls of Geishadon’t know the hatred of their conquered land
Still singing across river ‘the backyard flower’, the last ruler’s brand
A Message To Han Cho The YangZhou Magistrate
By DuMu/Tr. By Lily
Blue mountains are dim and rivers flow far away quite
When autumn ends the southern vegetation doesn’t fade
At night on the twenty-four bridge casts the moonlight
Where are you teaching others to blow the flute of jade?
Walking Into Mountains
By DuMu /Tr. By Lily
A long walk to the cold hill along a slant stone trail
There're households where the clouds are rising pale
At dusk I park my cart to rest in the woods of maple
Redder than Feb flowers leaves are where frosts veil

The Tomb Sweeping Day
By Du Mu /Tr. By Lily
In heavy rain comes the Tomb Sweeping Day
Folks' grief is felt like losing souls on the way
Asking where the pub is they'll have a short stay
A cowboy points afar where blooming apricots lay

Tomb-Sweeping Day
by Du Mu
Rain ceaselessly falls on Tomb-Sweeping Day,
So heart-broken are the mourners on the way.
When I inquire where I would find a wine bar,
A cowboy points to Apricot Flower Village afar.

Rain flutters on Tomb-Sweeping Day,
How sad are mourners on their way!
When I ask where to find a wine bar,
The cowboy points to Xinghua afar.

To Judge Han Chuo at Yangzhou
by Du Mu
Green hills in the mist and rivers on a long way,
Late autumn withers the southern plants away.
Twenty four bridges stand in the moonlit night,
Where do you teach her to play flute in delight?

Near a wineshop as I moor on the Qinhuai river at night.
Not knowing the conquered country's deep resentment,
The geishas beyond the river still sing for entertainment.
