gut, 肠子。口语里用法丰富。
a) I hate his guts. 我最讨厌他。也有说I hate him guts. guts 是肠子，英文说“恨之入肠”，相当于中文“恨之入骨”。

He doesn’t have the guts. 他是个胆小鬼。How much guts does he have?
注意用much来修饰，尽管guts看上去是复数。

No guts, no glory. 无胆便无荣。

gut feeling 直觉 My guts tell me one thing, my mind
