Farewell to Ying Brothers (2)
The best hours are hard to come by;
Good reunions we don’t have oft.
The sky and earth turn without end;
Our life is like the morning frost.
How perturbed I am, how perturbed.
You’re going north, mine friend, friend mine.
Friends and dear ones come for farewell.
On the north bank, I set the wine.
Isn’t it enough cheer and fare?
No guest there would finish his cup!
The more love you have, the more pain;
How can I not be stirred, stirred up!
The hills and rills make a long way;
It’s hard to leave, it’s hard to meet.
May we become love birds, king birds,
So that we could side by side fleet.
