Buddhist Dance
Madam Wei
The brook and th’ hills set each other off ‘gainst the setting
sun,
Two love-birds flush up, for the steps atop th’ tower them
stun.
On th’ brook’s yonder side two or three houses lie;
Apricots flaming out o’er th’ fences please th’ eye.
Green poplars fringe the path that zigzags below
The bank, along which at dawn and dusk I go.
Now I have seen willow catkins fly three times,
And yet the expected is still in strange climes!
