I died for beauty

I died for Beauty——but was scarce
Adjusted in the Tomb
When One who died for Truth，was lain
In an adjoining Room—--

He questioned softly “Why I Failed”？
“For Beauty”，I replied——
“ And I——for truth——Themself are One——
We Brethren，are”，He said——

And so，as Kinsmen，met a Night——
We talked between the Rooms——
Until the Moss had reached our lips——
And covered up——our names. 

我为美而死去，还才刚刚
安顿在我的墓里
有个为真理而死的人
来躺在我的隔壁。

他悄悄地问我为何殉身？
“为了美，”我说。
“而我为真理，两者不分；
我们是两兄弟。”
