题自写像             To My Self-Portrait

即月眠江底，                 I’d sleep with the moon on the bottom of the river

还能与紫色之林微笑。         And be able to smile at a purple patch of woods.

耶苏教徒之灵，               That’s too much of a Jesuit.

吁，太多情了。               Oh, how fond and tender!

感谢这手与足，               I’m thankful to these hands and feet of mine.

虽然尚少                     Though they are not many,

但既觉够了。                 They are enough for my employment.

昔日武士被着甲，             In the old days a warrior in his suit of armor

力能搏虎！                   Could even wrestle with a tiger!

我么？害点羞。               And me?  A bit bashful.

热如皎日，                   I’m as fervent as the blazing sun at noon,

灰白如新月在云里。           And as pallid as the crescent among clouds.

我有革履，仅能走世界之一角， But with my own apparel, I can only visit a small corner

                             of the world.

生羽么，太多事了呵！         To be feathered?  What a lot of bother!
