南国有佳人，
容华若桃李。
朝游江北岸，
夕宿潇湘沚。
时俗薄朱颜，
谁为发皓齿。
俛仰岁将暮，
荣曜难久恃。

In the south lives a lady fair;
With her charm no peach can compare.
Morn sees her on the north bank stroll;
At night she puts up on the shoal.
Beauty is slighted in this world;
Who speaks for her betwixt teeth pearled?
Anon, the year draws to its close;
Now the gleaming flower goes.
